Science and Evolution Foundation

The Science and Evolution Foundation has been operating as a legal entity since May 12, 2008, when it was granted by Decree # 1749 from the Chilean Ministry of Justice.

Mission

To promote research, development, and diffusion of scientific knowledge, in particular, that which pertains to evolutionary theory and its contemporary applications to the social sciences, including psychology, sociology, anthropology and economics. Our efforts will extend this research, development and diffusion of the aforementioned sciences, to the realms of art and culture, in order that Chile may recognize and appreciate this scientific knowledge as a national and cultural asset.

Our first goal is the organization, in 2009, of a series of International Seminars in addition to the world celebrations of Charles Darwin’s birth, 200 years ago. This agenda includes four seminars, in which the world’s most renowned scholars in the field participate: “Medicine and Evolution“, “Economics and Evolutionary Psychology“, “Law and Public Policy“, “Darwin’s Legacy to the 21st Century“.
